What is Savory Tangyuan?

Savory Tangyuan (鹹湯圓) is one of Taiwan’s popular hot pots and soups, found in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung and all over Taiwan. Glutinous rice balls, some stuffed with pork, in a savory broth with shiitake mushroom, dried shrimp, pork and leafy greens. A warming, filling soup, especially popular in winter.
