What is Taiwanese Sticky Rice?

Taiwanese Sticky Rice (油飯) is one of Taiwan’s popular rice and braised dishes, found in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung and all over Taiwan. Glutinous rice cooked with sesame oil, soy sauce, shredded pork, shiitake mushrooms and dried shrimp. Savory and chewy, it is a common breakfast or snack, and is traditionally shared to celebrate a baby’s first month.
