What is Turkey Rice?
Turkey Rice (火雞肉飯) is one of Taiwan’s popular rice and braised dishes, found in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung and all over Taiwan. White rice topped with shredded turkey, drizzled with savory sauce and a little shallot oil. In Chiayi, where it comes from, shops often just call it 雞肉飯 (“chicken rice”), but it is made with turkey. Simple, cheap and full of flavor.
