What is Mullet Roe?

Mullet Roe (烏魚子) is one of Taiwan’s popular meat and seafood dishes, found in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung and all over Taiwan. Salted and dried mullet roe, lightly grilled and thinly sliced, traditionally eaten with slices of radish or garlic leek. Rich and savory, it is a luxury delicacy and a popular gift.
