What is Buddha Jumps Over the Wall?
Buddha Jumps Over the Wall (佛跳牆) is one of Taiwan’s popular hot pots and soups, found in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung and all over Taiwan. A rich, luxurious soup slow-cooked in a clay jar with ingredients such as pork, chicken, taro, chestnuts, mushrooms and seafood like sea cucumber or abalone. The name says it smells so good even a monk would jump a wall for it. A banquet and Lunar New Year dish.
